Erika Schmidt
As the Marketing Director at Titmouse, Erika Schmidt crafts bold campaigns that combine her love of the irreverent with the studio’s eclectic identity. Driven by playful, engaging narratives, she amplifies the studio’s provocative artistry, subversive humor, and unique collaborations, using expansive cross-platform strategies, like the development of original merch for Titmouse Stuff, community fostering events like “5 Second Day… Night!!!”, and promotional campaigns for ventures like the studio’s BackerKit-crowdfunded role-drinking game “Drunkards, Druggies, & Delinquents”. Her current focus is a 360, all-encompassing celebration of Titmouse’s 25th Anniversary—solidifying the artist-run studio’s reputation as a home for risk-taking artists and genre-defying, cult-favorite animation.
A bilingual, half-Japanese creative, she began her career in Tokyo directing the popular children’s variety show, “ABC Broccoli!”, producing music videos for Warner/Universal Music Japan, and contributing to the “Ultraman” franchise. Before Titmouse, she led marketing across the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand for Tokyo-based anime studio, TMS Entertainment, bridging the gap between Japanese entertainment and Western markets. Other notable footnotes in her lore include working at a call center where she sang to children in Japan, and being an avid collector of vintage toys.
